Eligibility Requirements
This promotion is available to principal holders of select Metrobank credit cards. Supplementary cardholders' transactions count toward the principal's total, but the cashback is limited to one per customer.

Cards not eligible include Metrobank Dollar Mastercard, Corporate Mastercard, Dealer Financing, YAZZ Prepaid Visa, Metrobank Debit, and Prepaid cards. To participate, cardholders must have an updated mobile number in Metrobank's database and complete registration during the promo period. Accounts that become past due, delinquent, suspended, canceled, or terminated before cashback crediting will be disqualified.
How to Register
Registration is required and must occur between April 16 and 20, 2026. Successful registration triggers an SMS confirmation to the registered mobile number.

- In the Available Promos section, select “2026 Metrobank’s Cashback Pass” and enter your mobile number to register
- Await the success SMS

Note that changing your mobile number after registration requires contacting Metrobank at (02) 88-700-700 to update and re-register if needed. The site only requests your mobile number and verification code; never share card details, OTP, or CVV via email, SMS, or calls.
Transactions before successful registration are included if registered within the period. Supplementary cards are auto-registered upon principal registration.
Qualified Transactions
Only cross-border, card-present, in-store transactions in Japan qualify, identified by merchant country code 392 and JPY currency. Non-qualified transactions include:
- Spends outside Japan
- Local retail purchases (groceries, department stores, gas stations, restaurants)
- Online, mail order, or telephone orders
- Foreign currency transactions
- Installment plans (0% interest, Shop Now Pay Later, etc.)
- Bills payments, balance transfers, conversions
- Cash advances
- Mobile payments/wallets
- Transactions with merchant category code 6540 (e.g., Lazada Top Up, PayMaya, Shopee Pay, GrabPay)
A transaction tracker becomes available to registered principal cardholders starting April 30, 2026, updated within 7 to 10 banking days of posting.
How to Redeem
Redemption is available from April 27 to June 27, 2026, or within 60 calendar days of the qualification SMS. One cashback per customer maximum.

- Log in using your registered mobile number
- Go to the Joined Promos section and select the “2026 Metrobank’s Cashback Pass” tab
- Check progress and click the Claim button
The PHP 500 cashback credits to the principal cardholder's account within 60 calendar days after the redemption period ends, by August 15, 2026, with description: 2026 Metrobank’s Cashback Pass_Japan. Unredeemed rewards forfeit after the period; no extensions or reversals allowed.
Qualified customers receive a confirmation SMS upon meeting the spend threshold. Multiple cards under the same customer number combine for eligibility.
Terms and Conditions
This promotion runs alongside other ongoing offers. Metrobank may disqualify transactions due to cancellations, chargebacks, fraud, or errors, charging back any issued rewards. All disputes must be raised within 60 calendar days post-promo; later inquiries are not entertained.
